Once you will click on the “Done” button after the installation of Media Files Player, you will be redirected to your Salesforce Org’s installed packages page.

Here you can check “Media Files Player” under the list of Installed Packages.

Before we move ahead, let’s understand the two major functionalities that this utility will perform for you.

Media Files in Notes and Attachment - With the help of Media Files Player, users can preview the media files (images, videos, music) attached in the Notes and Attachment section in their Salesforce Org, without actually downloading it.

To Preview Media Files from Outside the Salesforce Environment – Users do not have to integrate a third-party app with their Salesforce application to see the uploaded files. Media Files Player will help them to see the preview of files, which are present outside the Salesforce environment, by placing the URL of the file in the utility.

1. Click on the setting option in the upper right corner.
2. Click on the setup button. You will be redirected to the home screen.
3. On the left side, type custom metadata in the search box. Click on it, and you will land on the Custom Metadata Types screen.

4. You will land up the screen mentioned above.
5. Click on the Manage Records option, and you will land on the Media Files Type Setting screen, as mentioned below.

6. Click on the new button.

7. The above-mentioned screen will appear. From here you can set the type of files (image/video/music) which you would like to see in your application in Salesforce org. From here you can set the file’s extension, type, etc.
8. In the first label option, type the file extension.
9. In the second setting name option, choose any name of your choice.
10. In the third Media type, choose the type of media you would like to see in your applications viz. Audio, Image, and Video.
11. Click on the Save button after you set up all the settings.

1. Go to a record page of your choice where you want to preview your uploaded files.
2. Click on the edit page, as shown in the image above.
3. Type Media Files in the search box at the left corner. Refer image below.
4. Select Media Files from the list. Drag and Drop this component on the right side of the window. A filter option will appear as shown in the image below.


5. Select Notes and Attachments.
6. Click on the Save button.
7. Click on the back button above the Save button.

Here in the image above, you can see the files uploaded in notes and attachments, can be previewed in the right-hand side of the screen through Media Files Player app. These are the same files which we have just dragged and dropped.

The same two files can be previewed here. Users also have the facility to filter their files according to their type viz. Image, Video, and Audio.

1. Click on the View All button. A new page layout will appear from where users can check their files in different view formats. These formats are: the List View and the Tiles View.


2. Users will have filters button here also.
3. Above is mentioned the name of the sObject. Click on it and you will get navigated to the account record page.

1. Click on the app launcher bar, and type the name of the application in which you want to set-up the Media Files Player app.
2. Go to the record page. On the upper right corner, you will see the setting button, click on it,
3. Click on the Edit Page button. You will be redirected to an editing page.

4. On the left side of the screen, type Media Files in the search box
5. Select the Media Files option from the list. Drag and drop it on the right side. A filter option will appear as shown in the image below.

6. By default, you will find Notes and Attachments. If you have configured other options, they will appear in the dropbox.
7. Click on the Save button.
8. Click on the back button above the Save button.

1. Go to the application in which you want to configure Media Files Player.
2. In the navigation bar above, click on the Pen Icon at the right corner, as highlighted in the image below.

3. A pop-up will appear. Click on the Add More Items button.

4. Click on the All option.
5. Type Media Files Player in the search box.
6. Click on the Add button
7. Click on the Add New Item button below.
8. Click on the Save button as mentioned in the image above.
9. Now you will find Media Files Player option in your Navigation Bar above.

1. Login in to your Salesforce org with your registered mail id.
2. You will land up on your Salesforce org dashboard.

With Media Files Player on your side, you do not have to integrate a third-party app with your Salesforce application to see the uploaded files. Now with the help of this utility, you can check out the files, uploaded outside of Salesforce, by placing the URL of the file, where it is uploaded.

1. Go to the navigation bar
2. Click on Media Files Player
3. You will land on the image below, click on the button Configure Another Object.

4. A pop-up will appear. Select the desired object.
5. Fill details like parent’s field, file title, file URL, file URL, file type, file size.
6. Click on the Active Checkbox (IT IS MANDATORY)
7. Click on the Save Button. (Refer Image Below for Reference)

8. Click on the recently configured object. And click on the New button.

9. A pop-up will appear. Fill the required details.

There are three most important attributes which you must fill in the boxes. These 3 attributes are File Name, File URL, and the sObject Name where you would like to see your media files to be displayed.

1. Click on the Save button, and you will be redirected to the recently built record page.
2. Click on the Details tab. Click on the hyperlinked “S” Name tab. You will land on the account page of your application.
3. Click on the setting button. Click on the Edit Page option, as shown in the image above.

4. Type Media Files in the search box at the left corner. Refer image above.
5. Select Media Files from the list. Drag and Drop this component on the right side of the window. A filter option will appear as shown in the image below.

6. Select a filter according to the given options, to see the files of a particular object.

For e.g. we have selected “Google Media Files” to check see the preview of the files in our Salesforce org. These files are uploaded on another public URL.

1. Click on the Save button.
2. Click on the back button above the Save button.

Click on any media file. You will land on its record page where you can see the three most important attributes of that particular file. File URL, File Type, File.

Due to some security issues, Salesforce often blocks certain files, and because of this, users cannot see the files in their S object.

To rectify this problem, follow these steps:

1. Go to Setup, and enter CSP in the QUICK FIND BOX. Select CSP Trusted Sites.

Note 1: Users can set one extension at a time. The extensions you set here, the files of the same extension will be displayed in your application.

2. Click on the New Trusted Site button. It will allow users to add a particular blocked site to the CSP Trusted Sites list

3. Enter the name of the trusted site.
4. Enter the URL of the trusted site.
1. URL consists of the complete domain name (Not just Site Name).
2. Third-party API URL must begin with https://
3. WebSocket connection’s URL must start with wss://
5. Enter the detail of the trusted site.

Through this process, you can register any website in your Salesforce org.
